Be who you were meant to be...

So in the life as an artist - there can definitely be times of ups and downs. A few weeks ago, I was at the point of deciding whether or not to continue with all of it. Maybe take a job at an airline... The next day I was in an antique shop close to where I live and saw this. I thought it would make a beautiful image but also it hit me - this tool was for one purpose really. It was not designed to hammer nails, paint a fence, etc. It was made to make holes. And then to me - I was made to do what I was made to do. I can do some other things - but not as well as someone who was gifted in that area. My faith renewed - I bought this - and made this image. Very grateful to be back on track - Do what you were meant to do - Be who you were meant to be... Hallelujah!!!

What camera...

There are so many cameras to choose from these days - it can seem overwhelming. Personally, I use both film and digital formats. For film (photo above) - 35mm and 6x7 medium format. For digital, I have images taken on a 6mp to a 21mp. A good friend told me once "It's all about the glass." So true. If you have an excellent 35mm film camera and an ok lens - you can still get great shots - but paired with a really great lens and it will probably look awesome. I hope someday to shoot with a Leica M7 and 50mm lens. That would be amazing. I also didn't name which cameras I use because there are so many great ones out there - find your vibe and go for it. Ciao!

Blue Sky Jet Trail

Right now a lot of what I photograph is centered around travel. I grew up in a family where both of my parents had worked, at one time or another, for the airline industry. At an early age, my brother and I were had the opportunity to travel and see many wonderful places, countries, hotels and airports. Today the adventure continues. A trip to Rome reignited my passion for photography and now I find great joy in sharing images that stir a sense of going out and seeing the new.

My new blog and a little about me...

Thanks for stopping by. This is my blog for fine art photography. Here you'll be able to see some of my newest work and some behind the scenes of production. So about me. Like many photographers, I've done work in several areas - fine art, commercial, fashion, etc - and still enjoy shooting this type of work. Sometimes though when shooting something that stirs my heart - and eventually printing it - that creates a tremendous amount of satisfaction. In sharing my vision with others and seeing them appreciate it - that's good stuff for me. I hope you enjoy these posts and feel free to reach out and talk.
